October 2009, Geophysical Research Letters:

A 30-year minimum Antarctic snowmelt record occurred during austral summer 2008–2009 according to spaceborne microwave observations for 1980–2009.http://www.agu.org/pubs/crossref/2009/2009GL039186.shtml

That is, in agreement with the growing sea ice around the Antarctic, smaller amounts of ice is melting from the continent.
