Temperatures, global – recent decades

Trends the since 2002:

Land(city)-based temperature: GISS and HadCrut. Satellite based temperatures: UAH og RSS.

Temperatures since 1979:

It appears, that the Earth has seen a temperature stagnation for approximately a decade.

Calculated we have had temperature stagnation for UAH and RSS going on for 13 år, while Hadcrut shows stagnation during the last 10 years and GISS says around 8½ år.

The SPPI institute calculates a minus 1 degrees/century COOLING for the last 9 years, based on RSS and UAH. This is in starck contrast to the IPCC estimates of 2.4 to 5.3 degrees/century warming, with 3.9 as the centra estimate:

The ongoing temperature stagnation is some times explained with the cooling La Nina of 2008.

Lets then compare the latest 3 La Nina minimums:

On the graphic above, the blue arrows shows La Nina minimums. There is no trend in the La Nina minimums since 1997, which again points to temperature stagnation. Actually the 2008 was not as strong and long as the 1999-2001 La Nina, but still the 2008 reached just as cold temperatures.

Also El Ninoes compared doe not show anything but temperature stagnation.

We often hear that ”You cannot estimate future temperature just on the latest decade”. Which is true. I believe the reason for many sceptics to be concerned about cooling is not past temperatures, but in stead the solar theory.

But how can anyone claim that: “temperatures will rise because we had warming 1978-98, even though there was no warming 1998-today”. Such a claim is obviously not much worth ether?

Just to get a little perspective: The whole global warming movement started for real when NASA´s James Hansen used the very graph below to point out that the temperature where indeed rising. As you can see, James Hansen found that 10 years of warming was enough to claim that global warming was a reality. Remember this, when people try to ridicule sceptics for mentioning that there has been no warming for a decade or more:
